Equinox Hotel
I personally love this place and have been here several times. It has a very warm, small town charm and feel. You have to appreciate this type of property to enjoy it as it's quite old but they did a good job modernizing the rooms. However, the walls are very thin, to the point where you can hear someone in their bathroom. The rooms have everything you need but you need to request things like a mini-fridge and mircrowave, which they charge you for. The building is too old to equip each room with it. The rooms are very spacious.

The back views are specular, in the evening and morning. The grounds are lovely, the gym is great, plus the pool and spa area is lovely.
It's also dog friendly. The restaurants are good, the staff are very friendly. I wouldn't bother valeting your vehicle as sometimes its hard to get a hold of someone the early mornings. You're better off just self-parking as it's actually closer. The town itself is very pretty and lovely. It’s a comfortable hotel with nicely appointed rooms with an update classic design. The beds are super comfortable and I absolutely love the Byredo toiletries.
That is the one luxury item the hotel offers! They nickel and dime you to death between the $39 daily resort fee (which won’t get you a group exercise class at the spa, that’s extra) to the various fees and taxes.

I would expect a little more than coffee and tea in the morning, and perhaps a fruit bowl or cookies in the afternoon or turndown down chocolate? No little extras to delight like true luxury properties.
Many of the other reviews are brutal, while I did not find the service to be friendly or compassionate about problems, in any way, I did not experience a long check in late in the evening and guest services was helpful by phone. After reading about long parking delays I just parked myself and it was fine. The concierge by email made us a reservation, he couldn’t get what we wanted, but was able to secure an alternative. The hot tub jets were broken when we were there but the water was still hot. Overall if you don’t expect luxury this hotel is good for being conveniently located near several ski mountains, restaurants and shopping.
Very disappointed in this resort, as we experienced many issues. First, we arrived at 1:30pm. Understanding that check in is not until 4pm we decided to head to the pool for the afternoon. At 4:30pm we had not heard from the front desk and inquired. The room was still not ready and would be another 45 min. We did not end up getting the room until just after 6pm.
This resulted in us having no time to get ready for our dinner reservation which was at 6:15pm. They did give us a $150 resort credit and 2 add'l breakfasts to offset all the waiting around we did. When we did get to our room, the pull out bed for our kids was not made and there were no sheets available to make it.
The roll away we had requested ahead of time was not in the room. At 5am every morning our shower would start to drip water. It was extremely loud as it hit the tile floor and woke me up each morning. The resort seemed understaffed.
There was always a number of people waiting for the front desk with nobody there (and overhearing all the conversations they were all complaints). The lobby always smelled badly and the grounds were not kept well. One day on the way to breakfast there was a broken glass in the hallway with glass shards everywhere, appearing to have happened the night before and at 9am the next morning was still sitting there. The game rooms and arcades had dirt and trash all over the floor from the previous evening. The two lobby areas in the 'inn' that our room was located in were dark at night - no lights on, so clearly the hotel does not want guests to use them. Definitely not warm and welcoming.
Based on my experience I do not consider this worthy of a luxury collection title by far. Thank you for sharing your feedback from your most recent stay with us. I am glad to hear that our staff was able to make right your concerns that you experienced during check in. Our Orvis Inn in which you stayed does provide a nice quiet atmosphere for those wanting a more exclusive getaway experience, but I do understand that some traveler prefer the more lively atmosphere of the Main Hotel. We do wish you happy travels in the future and would love to host you again should you find yourself i.
We paid top top dollar (and top points for one night) to stay three nights or four around encompassing New Years. No where close to a luxury experience. Many of the staff were way overworked/tired (or untrained last-minute fillers). Constant series of mistakes and indifferent staff.
Thank goodness for a few exceptional ‘stand out’ employees who helped offset the problems. I blame the management. To be fair we wrote (twice) to management and follow-up w/ a call (message) including the names of those who ‘saved’ the stay. The property was full, overrun by families (I’ve seen better behaviors by families at Disney). VERY expensive.
And staff who, for the most part, could care less about service and, oddly, were more worried about keeping their jobs during the 60-day post-property-purchase probationary period. Management never did write back. Perhaps they were busy looking for their next job. Think twice – very disappointing stay.
